Australian Rules football, or 'footy' as it is colloquially known, is a non-stop thrill - a fast, competitive, physical, and high scoring team game.
In its first three years of competition at the National level the Minnesota Freeze have had remarkable success by winning two championships; Division 3 in 2005 and Division 2 in 2007. Coupled with that on-field success has been the outstanding growth both on and off the field, as it has developed from a team into a fun social club as well.
If you are looking to get involved in sports, looking for something new or perhaps just want to see what footy is all about: join the Minnesota Freeze Footy Club today. New Players Are Always Welcome!!!
We have programs for men and women that cater to all levels of participation: local, National, and International competition. No prior experience is necessary. We have three local teams, comprised of players from various backgrounds, ages, and nationalities that scrimmage against each other throughout the season in a Metro League.
We encourage everyone to come down to Lake Nokomis for our weekly training and join us for a kick.
With an open and welcoming Metro League, a highly competitive team in the Mid-American Australian Football League (MAAFL), and a winning national team, there is much to like about being involved with The Freeze.
After the match in La Crosse, the club will be taking a drive up the river to Kinga's House for a BBQ to show our appreciation to all the players, their families, friends, and all other supporters of the Freeze!
This will be a good chance for everyone playing to sit around, relax and have a beer after the game.
Showers will be available.

Minnesota and Milwaukee were meeting up for the third time in 2010. The first meetup was an preseason match in Des Moines and then a home match for the Freeze. Milwaukee travelled lightly on both occassions. The visiting Minnesota team knew they would be facing a different club at Brown Deer Park. Minnesota travelled well with 21 players. They needed new recruits to step up and replace key veterans that were unable to make the trip down I-94.

Des Moines rolled into Minneapolis sporting their brand new jumpers for their first away match in club history. It looked like they upstarts from the state of corn were going to give the home town Freeze a match as they controlled the opening bounce and moved into scoring position. The Minnesota defense held firm and countered from the back line, moving the ball upfield with accurate kicks and deft hand balls. Steve Fashant put Minnesota on the board early with a goal. Rookie Tyler Richtsmeier was back in the US after a World Cup trip to South Africa and wasted no time adding a couple of goals to the Minnesota lead. Anthony King slotted two goals and Mike Busse had one to round out the quarter.
