Hey Freeze,
Back in Melbourne Friday afternoon was a great tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) where we got a chance to step into the clubhouses, locker rooms, press conference room, the prep room for the cricketers and ultimately we stood on the lawn of the MCG (should have stole a blade of grass)! As well, we took a moment while touring the Long Room to have a seat in the leather couches. Quite the photo opportunity it was, to sit in a seat where only Cricket Club members who have been a member for over 50 years can sit to watch a game. Not planning on paying $99,000 a year for membership, I decided to take a picture! So do a little math, 50 years X $99,000 or a $15 tour of the MCG to sit in the Cricket Club’s leather couches, I choose the latter.

Heya All,
Sorry for the delayed posts, this one was written 23 of March, 2009. MANY more to come this week as I am finally settled into my house and am beginning to find consistency in my schedule…
All the way over to Freo (Fremantle, WA) now! I had a great and exciting time in Melbourne and The Great Ocean Road! Tiger and I spent 2.5 days touring the south shore of the State of Victoria. We ran the flat beaches of Torquay, the host of the World Pro Surf Championships, which are in two weeks. Driving the Great Ocean Road from Torquay to Apollo Bay was crazy – many turns that were a suggested 35KM’s an hour with the cliff walls to the right and the crashing ocean waves below to the left. Hey Guys,
I hope everybody is doing great back in Minnesota! I know it's been a while since my last blog but we've been pretty busy here in WA. After our week in Victoria, we headed over to the west coast and spent a week in the Freemantle and Perth area. We trained a couple of days with the Yankeroos, from the Notre Dame campus of Freemantle on the south Freemantle oval and a couple of days with the CBC Freemantle football club as well, which is a pretty good team in a competitive league in and around Perth and Freemantle. We also spent some time up at Subiaco Oval, the home of the West Coast Eagles and the Freemantle Dockers. Read more »
Heya Mates!
First and foremost, a big thanks to everyone that has been a part of this great Australian opportunity I will be experiencing! Without CSB/SJU Study Abroad trips, my Study Abroad Director Wendy Sterba, previous director Stephen Saupe, Tony Fairhead, USFooty, WACFL, Minnesota Freeze, Dale Ballantyne, my new team, the Denmark/Warpole Magpies and many others; support from my family, teammates and friends…without all of you I wouldn’t be doing this! Thank you. Read more »
Freeze, Hello everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be posting a few notes here and there from my trip over to Western Australia to play Country Footy. I'll try to post some travel notes as well as some highlights from the trip as the season progresses. Mergen and I will be flying out of Minneapolis on March 15 and will be heading down to Melbourne to spend a week there. We'll spend a few days on the great ocean road touring, surfing, and camping along the way over to the twelve apostles and then make our way back to Melbourne. We're also planning on grabbing a tour of the MCG as well, so that will be awesome to see every bit of one of the greatest sporting arenas in the world. We're also going to be meeting up with Doren James from Milwaukee for dinner on that friday night who is arriving in Melbourne about the same time we are to begin an internship with the AFL working with the Auskick development program.
