Freeze, Hello everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be posting a few notes here and there from my trip over to Western Australia to play Country Footy. I'll try to post some travel notes as well as some highlights from the trip as the season progresses. Mergen and I will be flying out of Minneapolis on March 15 and will be heading down to Melbourne to spend a week there. We'll spend a few days on the great ocean road touring, surfing, and camping along the way over to the twelve apostles and then make our way back to Melbourne. We're also planning on grabbing a tour of the MCG as well, so that will be awesome to see every bit of one of the greatest sporting arenas in the world. We're also going to be meeting up with Doren James from Milwaukee for dinner on that friday night who is arriving in Melbourne about the same time we are to begin an internship with the AFL working with the Auskick development program.

Then, we're going to catch one of my brother's basketball games, who lives and plays in Melbourne, and then off to Perth the next day. The next week will be spent in the Perth/Freo area visiting and will include some training with the Yankeroos who are studying abroad from CSB/SJU at the Notre Dame campus in Freemantle. We'll be doing a bit of sight seeing as well. We were invited to spend a few days staying with Tony Fairhead and his wife Ros, so it will be great to catch up with him about the details of the footy season. At the end of the week it's off to our respective towns. I will be heading to Mt. Barker, WA playing with the Mt. Barker Bulls. Mergen will be headin to Denmark, WA to play for their team. We will both be playing in the Great Southern football league and will be seeing each other on the pitch fairly often. I ended up landing a job as a vinyard worker on a winery, Mergen will be an accountant at a grocery store, sorry Mergen! The season starts on march 29th and will run into september. I'll make sure I'm back for nationals though in October, as I think Diesel and Becker will beat me up if I don't! Anyways, that most of what we know for now. I'll be posting throughout our trip along with putting up some memorable pictures of the experience. Minnesota Freeze! - Tiger
