We are currently building up our core player numbers with the goal of having multiple teams at the National level. We are one of the larger clubs in the country with almost two full men's teams and a women's team, but the opportunity is there to have many more, so that no matter what your skill level may be there is a team suited for you.
So, if you've never kicked a footy before, or if you sleep with one under your pillow - all skill levels are welcome. So come out, join us, and be a part of a two time National Championship winning club!
Details of the origins of Australian Rules Football (or "Footy" as it is colloquially known) are obscure and still the subject of much debate, including the theory that the game was thought to have been played for many thousands of years by Indigenous Australians. What is known is that the first laws of the game were published by the Melbourne Football Club in 1859.
Even with such early beginnings, many elements of other sports such as; Ice Hockey, Basketball, American Football, and Soccer can be found in Footy to make for a fast paced, exciting and highly skilled game.
For a more detailed description of the game go to this wikipedia link.
As stated above, we encourage everyone interested to come out and give it a try or dust off the cleats and kick the footy once again! If you are unsure about anything at all or would like further information contact us!
Visit our Training page for general info on practice times and locations. Please check the detailed schedule in case their are deviations.
